  • Measles Resurgence: In Texas, a severe measles outbreak infected 124 individuals, primarily unvaccinated school-aged children, and resulted in the death of a child. This outbreak, the largest in 30 years, is exacerbated by a rising number of parents opting out of vaccines. ​

  • Global Implications: Misinformation campaigns have also impacted other regions. For instance, during the 2019 measles outbreak in Samoa, disinformation contributed to a decrease in vaccination rates, leading to a severe health crisis that resulted in numerous fatalities, primarily among young children.
